Each time you post about this stuff I get way more excited than I do about the previous posts, and I think I speak for more than myself when I say that we all get a warm fuzzy feeling when we think about these drivers finally being made available to the community. ^_^

You just WROTE a driver. I can't get my head around that fact. Congrats, and thank you so much on behalf of intel wireless card owners. I honestly cannot believe what has happened here. Couple things - When are you going to post the bounty so that I can get my hands on the source? Also, I have a laptop with a 4965AGN currently and will be receiving a new one from work sometime between monday and the 15th. Since the laptop with the 4965AGN won't encounter much use, I'd be happy to leave it open to you via ssh or vnc, but I understand that this card is 3rd on the list and it'll take time before the 2200 is polished and ready to go.

    Thanks so much!

    Congratulations! Thanks for your work!

This is indeed very impressive! If this driver is open source, I guess someone could also make a driver akin to the ndiswrapper, so that one could use the windows driver with it under OSX.

I know a LOT of people are anxious to get their hands on a beta version.

HOWEVER, I have a thing for quality control and there is little point in releasing something that is not quite ready for public consumption yet. We're well aware of a certain thread on a certain forum where every couple hours someone posts the SAME questions and gets their post deleted. I want to avoid that, and the support nightmare that will inevitably come with it, by simply not releasing half-baked stuff.

It will be released in due time. Also, the original plan was (is) that the sources + binaries will be released based on a bounty system. When the bounty pot is opened, people donate and when it reaches some disclosed value, everything will be put online. That's also why I am not accepting any donations until I am convinced that the drivers really are ready for public use.

I've not yet decided whether to go ahead with the bounty system or just release the whole thing and hope people donate enough afterwards to cover the cost of development. More details on that in a future post. Now is not the time to discuss these as development is still in heavily progress.

    Ahhhh. mmmm. Ok.
    Good.
I supposed at least we know that behind this.
I appreciate that not everyone in the community of Hackintosh act like that.
One more reason to admire his genius and Eugenie Gavrilov KX drivers expanded the functionality of the chip EMU10K1.
Besides Michael Tippach their drivers Asio4all generic and universal.

    PS: Many may have helped.
I do not like these things.
I'm choosing a leopard compatible mini card for less than 40u$s
    Bye man...
  • mercurysquad · 5 months ago
I don't want to argue about it now, but for your information, I also have a leopard-compatible Broadcom 4318 miniPCI card which I bought for 6 USD including shipping. What is your point?
  • chaozhouzi · 5 months ago
Right on Mercurysquad. I myself had also bought a broadcom card for the purpose of wireless access but I still wait for the day for the driver to be completed.
Last week a friend offered to buy my laptop but I am still rooting for this project simply because my next purchase will likely has an Intel card.
