Project: Camphor: Thanks to all those who emailed

Would be better to donate rather than use words like "ASAP", "NOW", "PLEASE NOW", "I NEED IT", ETC ...
If you are in such hurry - DIY.

Great work Mercurysquad !!! Keep it up.
I think that is one of the best third party driver stuff of the whole Hackintosh community.

    Cheers!!!

I NEED MY 3945 DRIVER ASAP RIGHT NOW , PLEASE NOW
  • magare · 4 months ago
That WILL help a lot, especially to AH like yourself !!!
  • foo · 4 months ago
To all the people who commented about 4965: CHILL OUT AND WAIT, THE 3945 DRIVER IS BEING DONE FIRST.
To all the people who commented "fix my wifi card now": SHUT THE FUCK UP AND WHINE TO INTEL INSTEAD OF US.
To mercurysquad: ignore these losers, you're doing an awesome job, and almost everyone knows it :) please keep it up :)
  • Proximity · 4 months ago
I totally agree. I am checking this blog many times a day, joyfully awaiting to read about the progress mercurysquad has achieved, just to read someone whining over his card being not coded first or coded to slow. There is no ETA for the driver - so stop asking.

mercurysquad you are doing a great job. There's no need for an uncompleted quick coded driver.

    Greetings from Europe
    Proximity
    - chilling since Feb. for 4965 driver

Congratulations on your good progress. The generic interface should really help out wifi driver development on OSX.
  • lawlist · 4 months ago
Just a note to say thank you for all your hard work. I am certain there are numerous people like me who check your website every day like an addiction, even though we may not always leave comments. I went into the wrong profession -- I would have had more fun working with computers like yourself.
  • Barakeh · 4 months ago
Great Job man, keep it up!
  • japr99 · 4 months ago
thanks for work on 3945 abg drivers
  • Daniel · 4 months ago
Whoa, only 10% of the Linux driver! Great job man!

P.S.: this somehow sounds sarcastic, it's not meant to :)
  • xtian_sk9 · 4 months ago
When are you gonna release the 3945abg driver? I wish that: you release that driver very very very very soooooooooooooooon!!! :) ^_^
  • foo · 4 months ago
See my earlier comment. Don't ask when it will be done, just keep checking the site. You'll find out when it's released along with the rest of us, at the same time.

Instead of asking when it will be done, say instead: "Great job, mercurysquad!" or "Thanks for your hard work, keep it up!" or "We all appreciate the work you're doing for the osx86 community!"

    Or just donate.
  • xtian_sk9 · 4 months ago

  • Shane · 4 months ago
Absolutely phenomenal job on all of your work. I am glad that some one took that initiative to build the drivers that have so long plagued the hackintosh. If you need any help at all, I am more than willing to do some testing with the 3945 for you. I am also considering applyig my own development skills and business resources towards further hackintosh driver development after I wrap up a couple other projects. Have an HP Pavilion DV6000 running winXP SP3/OSX 10.5.6.
  • James · 4 months ago
I will also be glad to beta test 3945 and its great that you are working on it :)

Eagerly awaiting for the driver so that i can finally switch to mac on bootcamp (planning to get a real mac but first i would like to have a preview and work a bit on mac osx, but i really need the internet :P )

Thank you for doing this for us :)

Will be checking your blog ^^

    Cheers! :)

Hi, Mercurysquad....Great Job. Even though I exchanged by now all the wireless cards in all the laptops I have into atheros and broadcom (osx compatible) (because I got the other cards for nothing, a bunch of dead laptops of clients who were throwing away the entire machine) I am looking at this project with awe and appreciation. I see how devoted you are and I hope you succeed soon in porting the 3945. Are you planning to go on to the 4965 first or to finish WPA first? You may have written this somewhere...sorry if I overread it.

Keep up your great work, we appreciate it.
  • xtian_sk9 · 4 months ago
He is going to finish the 3945 first. Great Job Mercury squad.
  • Michael · 4 months ago
I meant after he finishes the 3945 duh! I only wanted to know the priority list.
  • tito · 4 months ago
We really thank you for that work! Good that I could use my ipw3945 on OS X, the BCM4311 I'm usign now isn't so powerful as the intel ones
  • bencarson · 4 months ago
Just like to say I and im sure a load of other people are extremely grateful for all the work your puting into this project, and as its been said by other people, dont push him, with stuff like "ASAP" want it as soon as possible? code it yourself, Mercurysquads trying his best, all that could be asked for, great work:)

"I am certain there are numerous people like me who check your website every day like an addiction, even though we may not always leave comments."
And that makes many of us! xD

Mercurysquad, thanks for all your efforts in make a functional driver for Intel cards. I'm using a 4965 and waiting for a driver since my first hackintosh (January 2008), so more 2 or 3 months doesn't make all that difference to me. And I'll definitely going to donate as soon as the driver is working. ;)
  • Francis · 4 months ago
GOGOGOGOGO we need this driver loooooooooool
  • roal2488 · 4 months ago

  • roal2488 · 4 months ago
    Oh I see.

    Good luck!
  • xtian_sk9 · 4 months ago
Thank You mercury squad! by the way are you having a hard time for the 3945 driver? read what subby said:
  • Lleu · 4 months ago
As he said previously, he has a pool of testers that he's currently using and everyone else who offered to help is on his contact list. He'll email the people on the list if a tester falls through, and if everyone bails he can make a new post asking for more. Also, even if someone sends a card, he may have to pay a tariff on it.

Also, please keep in mind that he said on the 8th that he was heading toward a working driver this month. That means that he will probably have the driver sending data in the last week of August, followed by another week or so to make adjustments before the actual release. I'm using the long end of the time frame, but good software takes time, and doesn't often come in ahead of schedule.

Congrats on the progress, mercurysquad! As you can see, lots of people are still following, although we don't comment all the time.
  • xtian_sk9 · 4 months ago
    yeah any update?
  • Subby · 4 months ago
